Walking in the New Forest

I’ve got two days off work…hooray!  My friend, Sarah, has come to stay and we’ve planned two days of sun, relaxation, good food, good gossip and all round good time.  To start we went out to lunch in Lymington and found a nice tea room where we had a sandwich and a homemade chocolate brownie.  We also both had a fruit smoothie which were lovely.

After lunch, we headed further into the New Forest where we did Walk 3592 from the Walkingworld website.  The walk took us two hours and took us through lots of heather filled areas which were really pretty.  We of course saw lots of New Forest ponies and quite a few young foals with their mothers.  It supposedly also, took us past ‘The Naked Man’ which is actually a tree that used to be used for hanging people…but we seemed to miss it!

After a good few hours of fresh air we felt nicely tired, and quite relaxed.  We went to The Plough in Sparsholt for dinner.  Sarah had beef, and I had pork – both which were really tasty.  The pub is a little more expensive than other places in the area, but the food is really nice and it’s a nice cosy atmosphere.
